Hiking & Trekking

Discovering everything that Flores has to offer is sometimes best done on foot. The wild lands and the prehistoric dragons are waiting for you to reach out and explore.

The Padar Island is a heaven for nature photographers. A hike up the favorite spot of the island that grants you its majestic panoramic view takes up to 2 hours. You’ll reach a vantage point of the 4 beaches with different colored sands.

Gili Lawa Darat of Komodo is a favorite spot to catch the sunrise. The vantage point offers you a view of the gorgeous blue bay with the surrounding islands.

Visit Rinca Island, which is well known for its diverse wildlife, and maybe spot dragons, monkeys, wild buffaloes and deer as well. From the top of the hills, the scenery is breath taking.

See the Komodo Dragons

Go ashore on Komodo Island in search of the fearsome Komodo dragons, found only in the Komodo National Park. This is the world’s largest lizard, growing up to a length of three metres and weighing up to approximately 70 kilograms and the larger dragons are usually weigh up to 90 kg.

The park includes three major islands, Komodo, Rinca and Padar, and numerous smaller islands all together totaling 603 square kilometers of land. At least 2,500 Komodos live in this area.

Their habitat comprises beautiful savannas, rain forests, white beaches, coral reefs, surrounded by a sparkling aquamarine sea. In this area, you’ll find a plethora of wild life, among others wild horses, wild buffaloes, deer, wild boars, snakes, monkeys, and various types of birds.

Beaches

We are never far away from a stunning beach. Wake up off the coast of a beautiful uninhabited island with a beach of pure white sand with some sparkles of powdered red coral, creating the effect of a “pink beach”.

Spend the day on a beach located on a small limestone island nearby, kayaking, swimming and snorkelling, and exploring the local karst formations. Allow our crew to whisk you away to picture postcard beaches for some relaxation or exploration.

And whilst you experience these breathe taking natural treasures, we will set up a BBQ just in time for sunset.

Snorkel & Free Dive

Enjoy some magnificent snorkelling on some of the Komodo Park’s best reefs. Many of our locations offer stunning beauty right below the water surface. So jump in, relax and see spectacular reef vistas beneath you.

Shallow fields of colourful coral filled with spectacular marine life offer guests access to some of the best snorkelling the world. Swim with manta rays as they feed on the current and snorkel at a favourite hangout of sea turtles, where we will have a chance to swim with these gentle reptiles as they cruise along the shallow water of the reef.

Kayak & Paddle Board

Komodo Trails offers two sea kayaks for our guests. Maybe you’ll see a turtle go by or simply enjoy the clear waters in the bays or hard to reach mangroves and experience all of the wildlife up close.

Stand up paddle boards offer a fun, relaxing way to play on the
water. Paddle boarding delivers a full-body workout and thus has become a popular cross-training activity. And since you stand at your full height, you can enjoy unique views of everything from sea creatures to what’s on the horizon.

BBQ on the Beach

Experience one of our Komodo Trails beach BBQs under a night sky filled with millions of stars as you feast on the amazing local delicacies prepared by our chef.

The chef uses organic produce and crafts it into Western and Asian Fusion dishes served on white sandy beaches as the sun sets.
